City of Takoma Park Crossing Guard Appreciation Day - Tuesday, May 29, 2012

Takoma Park and Piney Branch Elementary Schools, Takoma Park Middle School

Piney Branch and Takoma Park Elementary Schools and Takoma Park Middle School have joined forces with the City of Takoma Park Safe Routes to School Program to make it easy for you to do something nice for the Crossing Guards who serve our kids every school day! Before Crossing Guard Appreciation Day, take a moment to talk with your kids about pedestrian safety and the important work of the Crossing Guards.

On the morning of May 29 make a special effort to show your Crossing Guards how much they are appreciated! On your way to school, take a moment to thank them personally and offer a token of your gratitude. Tables will be set up near each crossing guard post to receive cards, flowers or treats. If all the families participate, the Crossing Guards will know for sure how much their service is valued. If you need additional information or want to help email lucyn@takomagov.org.
