Takoma Park Police Department Weekly Crime Report: 1/13/12 - 1/19/12

Ward 1:

Burglary Commercial

200 blk. of Tulip Ave., on Monday, January 16 at 12:23 a.m., officers responded to a burglary in progress. A witness advised three female suspects were observed leaving the area and once on scene officers found broken pad locks that secured the building. No property was taken.

Burglary Residential

7400 blk. of Maple Ave., on Monday, January 16 at 11:28 a.m., officers responded to a burglary that occurred earlier. Unknown suspect(s) broke a side door to gain entry to a residence and stole property.

Ward 2:

Larceny from Auto

6800 blk. of New Hampshire Ave., on Friday, January 13 at 7:31 p.m., officers responded to a theft that just occurred. Unknown suspect(s) broke a rear passenger vehicle window and stole property.

Auto Theft

900 blk. of Glaizewood Ave., on Saturday, January 14 at 4:59 p.m., officers responded to an auto theft that just occurred. Unknown suspect(s) stole a red 2011 Jeep Cherokee by unknown means while parked on the street.

Larceny from Building

600 blk. of Houston Ave., on Monday, January 16 at 8:00 p.m., officers responded to a theft that occurred earlier. Unknown suspect(s) stole a package from a resident’s front porch.

Ward 6:

Auto Theft

7400 blk. of New Hampshire Ave., on Tuesday, January 17 at 9:28 a.m., officers responded to an attempted auto theft that occurred overnight. Unknown suspect(s) attempted to steal a blue 2002 Dodge Caravan by prying the vehicle door and tampering with the ignition, but were unsuccessful.

Arrests:

7600 blk. of New Hampshire Ave., on Sunday, January 15 at 3:15 a.m., a male 33 was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol.

7200 blk. of Maple Ave., on Tuesday, January 17 at 6:28 p.m., a female was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, and related charges.
