Winter Storm Watch for Montgomery County - Community Advisory

The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a WINTER STORM WATCH for Montgomery County from Tuesday evening through Wednesday evening. According to the NWS, accumulations of up to 5 inches or more is possible in the region. Precipitation may begin as a mix of rain and snow with a change to all snow Tuesday night. Winds may reach gusts of up to 30 MPH.



Driving conditions may become difficult during this time. Residents should begin Winter Storm preparations which should consider the potential of significant (5+in) snow accumulations within the next 48 hours. Heavy, wet snow combined with gusty winds does have the potential to lead to power outages. Please remain alert for the issuance of additional warnings and follow local forecasts.



A winter storm watch is issued when there is the potential for significant snowfall and hazardous winter weather within 48 hours.
