Takoma Park Police Department Weekly Crime Report: 4/26/13 - 5/2/13

Arrests:

7400 blk. of New Hampshire Ave., on Tuesday, April 30th at 7:40 p.m., a male 54, was arrested for driving a stolen vehicle.

1100 blk. of University Blvd., on Monday, April 29th at 6:30 p.m., a male 42, was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia.

600 blk. of Boston Ave., on Friday, April 26th at 11:54 a.m., a male 18, was arrested for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Intersection of Flower Ave. and Garland Ave., on Thursday, May 2nd at 2:00 p.m., a male 30, was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia.

7600 blk. of Takoma Ave., on Wednesday, May 1st at 5:00 p.m., a male 22, was arrested for having an open destruction of property of warrant and related charges.

600 blk. of Houston Ave., on Sunday, April 28th at 12:35 p.m., a male 22, was arrested for having an open robbery warrant, 1st degree assault warrant, and related charges.

Ward 1:

Larceny

7000 blk. of Carroll Ave., on Friday, April 26th at 1:02 p.m., officers responded to a theft that just occurred. A female suspect took items from a business and fled without paying for them.

Ward 2:

Assault

6900 blk. of New Hampshire Ave., on Friday, April 26th at 7:24 p.m., officers responded to an assault in progress. Two male subjects assaulted each other in an argument that turned physical over a parking spot. No charges were filed.

Ward 3:

Residential Burglary

6900 blk. of Sycamore Ave., on Friday, April 26th at 9:15 p.m., officers responded to a burglary that occurred earlier. Unknown suspect(s) entered a residence through an unlocked window and stole property.

Ward 4:

Ward 5:

Assault

700 blk. of Hudson Ave., on Tuesday, April 30th at 4:30 p.m., a female 15, was arrested for 2nd degree assault after hitting a female victim during an argument that turned physical.

Ward 6:

Assault

1300 blk. of University Blvd., on Saturday, April 27th at 10:11 p.m., officers responded to an assault in progress. Two known male suspects assaulted a male victim during an argument that turned physical before fleeing in an unknown direction.

Larceny

1100 blk. of University Blvd., on Monday, April 29th at 5:45 p.m., officers responded to a theft that occurred earlier. A male suspect approached a male victim while the victim was using the ATM machine and removed the victims’ money after the victim asked for assistance. The suspect fled in an unknown direction.
