Chief Ronald Ricucci of the Takoma Park Police Department would like to remind everyone to be alert and vigilant when walking or jogging along the Sligo Creek Parkway bike and foot trail.
The Maryland National Capital Park Police Investigative Services Section is currently investigating two sexual assaults and abductions that occurred on March 12 and March 28, 2012, near the Northwest Branch Hiker/Biker (West Hyattsville Metro) trail of Prince George's County, Maryland.
There is no indication that the suspect is near the Takoma Park borders, however, Chief Ricucci would like to remind all residents to be alert and vigilant while out in the community.
If you see any suspicious subjects on the trail or subjects fitting the description of the suspect, please call the Takoma Park Police immediately at 301.270.1100.
The subject who is wanted for the Abduction and First Degree Rape was last seen on the North West Branch Hiker Biker Trail in Hyattsville. The subject is described as a Hispanic male with a beige-almond complexion, approximately 5’ 8", 160 lbs. He was last seen wearing a red and white horizontal striped shirt, tan jacket and dark pants.
