To help our residents find a cool place to charge their cell phones and access the internet, the City of Takoma Park would like to remind residents of the operating hours of City facilities for the week of July 2:
* Takoma Park Community Center, 7500 Maple Avenue
Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday, 8:30 a.m. - 9:30 p.m.
Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 10:00 p.m.
* Takoma Park Library
Tuesday and Thursday, 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Friday, 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Given the power outages and the extreme heat, the Hydrangea Room at the Community Center has been reserved from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. for Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. Wireless access is weaker in the Hydrangea Room, but it is a good workspace and has multiple electrical outlets if you need to charge your cell phone.
City residents are also free to use other public areas of the Community Center.
Computer Learning Center hours have been expanded for this week. The facility will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday.
On Wednesday, July 4, special arrangements have been made for access to City facilities that would customarily be closed on the holiday. Residents may visit the Computer Learning Center and the Community Center from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
