Chief Alan M. Goldberg from the Takoma Park Police Department announces the arrest of William David Motley, 48, of the District of Columbia for Possession of Heroin with the intent to Distribute. Other charges may be pending.

On April 3, 2013, in the area of 4th Avenue and Cockerille Avenue in Takoma Park, Maryland, Takoma Park Police initiated a traffic stop for a traffic violation. Investigation by patrol, Special Assignment Team (SAT) investigators and the Drug Task Force led to a search of the vehicle, incident to arrest, which yielded a large amount of Heroin and Controlled Dangerous Substance (CDS) paraphernalia, in an amount indicative of an intent to distribute. There were other items of evidentiary value retrieved from the vehicle and impounded.

Motley was arrested without incident and transported to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit.
