Video of Takoma Park Police Department's First Citizen's Police Academy - Community Advisory

For two-and-a-half hours once per week, Takoma Park Police Department staff, led by Officer Carla Magnaye and Chief Ronald Ricucci put 20 Takoma Park citizens and community members through a modified police training course, providing memorable glimpses into the day-to-day lives of the city's 42 sworn officers. The participants, who graduated in a Jan. 31 ceremony at the Takoma Park Community Center, went to a shooting range, rehearsed traffic-stop procedures and learned search and seizure law.  The next Academy will be held in September 2012.
