FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
ADDITIONAL INFORMATIONWith regard to the investigation into the critically missing person, Clayton Mollenhoff, 27, who escaped from the Washington Adventist Hospital at approximately 9:20 p.m. on January 9, 2013, detectives want to assure the public that all steps are being taken to locate him. Mr. Mollenhoff is known to walk or take the bus long distances. During the extensive and exhaustive search last evening by law enforcement and K9 units, it was believed he was no longer in the area. Investigators notified A Child is Missing Agency, who also deals with missing adults, and they are assisting in the investigation.
The "A Child Is Missing Alert Program" provides a high tech method to search locally for missing children, missing elderly persons (often suffering from Alzheimer’s Disease), college students, and missing persons who may be mentally or physically challenged or disabled. The non-profit organization’s alert system is operated nationwide and utilizes sophisticated computer-mapping systems and trained technicians to place 1,000 phone calls per minute to residents and businesses in the area where someone has gone missing. The alert system is highly localized and can be used when an AMBER Alert is not warranted, or it can be used in tandem with AMBER Alerts and thereby increasing the effectiveness of both.
Anyone who has seen Mollenhoff or has information about his whereabouts is asked to contact the Takoma Park Police Department at 301-270-1100 and refer to case #13001579.
