FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
At approximately 1:03 p.m. today, a Takoma Park Police Officer attempted to make a traffic stop. The vehicle's driver would not stop his vehicle and attempted to out-run the police officer. As the suspect driver was speeding down Sligo Creek Parkway, he encountered a barricade and was forced to stop. The suspect driver put his vehicle into reverse striking/assaulting the officer's vehicle in an attempt to further flee. The pursuit led the officer into Montgomery County as well as Prince George's County where the suspect driver and passengers of the vehicle bailed out. At this time, there is one suspect in custody and the others outstanding. This is an on-going investigation and is constantly changing. When more information is received, it will be released.
