Assault - Community Advisory

On June 15, 2012, at approximately 11:36 a.m., Takoma Park Police responded to the 7600 block of New Hampshire Avenue at Holton Lane (bus stop) for reports of an assault in progress. The victim was at the bus stop with her three year old child, who was crying. An unknown suspect told the victim to "shut her kid up." When the child continued to cry, the suspect pushed him in the head knocking him to the ground. The child’s mother attempted to defend her child and the suspect punched her in the mouth and then fled on foot southbound on New Hampshire Avenue. The victims’ suffered no serious physical injuries. The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 5’5, 150 lbs., with short twists in his hair. The area was canvassed by police, however the suspect was not located. A look-out was given to surrounding jurisdictions.
