Silver Spring Fire Department Offers another Babysitter Safety Course AND CPR Training - Community Advisory

Presented by the Life Safety Unit of Silver Spring Volunteer Fire Department.
Th four hour babysitter class covers safety in the home including fire prevention, stranger danger, scalds and burns, choking hazards, basic first aid, how to get help and other useful information. It is taught by a paramedic. It is appropriate for anyone 12 and over. A completion card will be issued. There is no charge but pre-registration is required. The class is at the Silver Spring Fire Station 16, 111 University Boulevard - adjacent to Montgomery Blair High School.
The class is Tuesday, July 10, from 6 pm to 10 pm.
Register early; the last class held earlier in the month was full and numerous individuals were turned away.
In addition, a companion CPR class will be held in two sessions, Thursday, July 19 and Tuesday, July 24. These sessions will also be held at the Fire Station 16. It is recommended that Babysitter students also take the CPR class. A separate site has been created for class registrations. To register for one or both, go to http://babysittersafety.eventbrite.com. Specific questions may be directed to Ms. Marie Warner-Crossonlifesafety@silverspringvfd.org, 301.367.5633 or Chief Roger A. McGary, 240.375.4295.
