FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

The City of Takoma Park Police Department has implemented a "City of Takoma Park Police Department ‘Most Wanted’ News Broadcast" on our local television station (Channel 13). The ‘Most Wanted’ list will be aired several times daily at various times and lengths of times. The list will be updated every two weeks, not withstanding a criminal "jumping" to the top of that list for a more heinous crime.

Chief Ricucci states that "this new capability will help our citizens play an active role in keeping their eyes and ears open for anyone they know or who they have seen who is wanted by Takoma Park Police." As with other information given by citizens, if a "Most Wanted’ person is aired, and a citizen wants to remain anonymous, they can use their cell phone to send a tip to the Takoma Park Police Department and remain 100% anonymous.

* Text to 847411

* Type TPPDTIP at the beginning of your message.

* Type your message including as much detail as possible to ensure that your tip is thoroughly investigated.

* Send your tip, knowing that you are helping to reduce crime in your community while remaining 100% anonymous.

You can also now send a tip using the Takoma Park Police Department's Facebook page. In the left hand column you will find a link to "submit a tip." Your tip is important and CAN remove a dangerous felon off the street.
