Street resurfacing work will begin the week of October 1 through October 12 on Tulip Avenue, Willow Avenue, Spruce Avenue, Valley View Avenue and Maple Avenue. Eastern Contracting, Inc. will be performing the work on behalf of Washington Gas. The paving work is required to repair the streets in the areas where the gas line work took place. The work will take place between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Please anticipate noise and dust during this time. The schedule provided to the City is as follows:
Monday, Oct 1, milling Tulip Avenue between Carroll and Maple
Tuesday, Oct 2, milling Willow Avenue between Tulip and Carroll, and milling Spruce Avenue between Tulip and Park
Wednesday, Oct 3, milling Willow Avenue between Tulip and Valley View, milling Valley View between Spruce and Maple
Thursday, October 4, milling Maple Avenue between Eastern and Philadelphia
Friday, October 5, completion of any remaining milling work, may start paving
Monday, Oct 8, paving Tulip Avenue between Carroll and Maple
Tuesday, Oct 9, paving Willow Avenue between Tulip and Carroll, and paving Spruce Avenue between Tulip and Park
Wednesday, Oct 10, paving Willow Avenue between Tulip and Valley View, paving Valley View between Spruce and Maple
Thursday, October 11, paving Maple Avenue between Eastern and Philadelphia,
Friday, October 12, completion of any remaining paving
Access to these streets during the work will be difficult and drivers are asked to find alternate routes when possible. The contractor will post no parking on each street for the days when milling and paving is planned. Weather or equipment difficulties can alter the schedule. The paving contractor is required to provide traffic control and flagmen to facilitate vehicles access or restriction during the work. It is advisable to avoid driving on these streets if possible during the work.
