Gas Station Theft from Auto - Community Advisory

On January 27, 2012, at 9:50 a.m., officers responded for a theft from auto that occurred earlier in the 6300 block of New Hampshire Avenue (Sunoco Gas Station). At approximately 9:30 a.m., the suspect entered the victim’s vehicle through an unlocked passenger door and took property. The suspect is described as a black male - no further. Surveillance showed a Chrysler (suspect vehicle) enter the gas station. An attempt to remove property from another vehicle was met with negative results as the vehicle door was locked. The suspect then moved on to this victim's vehicle and removed property. The suspect then fled in the Chrysler on New Hampshire Avenue. The suspect vehicle is described as a black 4-door Chrysler unknown make, with no front tag. The victim did not notice her property missing until arriving at her place of employment, and then she returned to the gas station and called police.
