Gas Station Theft from Auto - Community Advisory

On January 28, 2012, officers responded for a theft from auto that occurred in the 6400 block of New Hampshire Avenue (W Express Gas Station). At approximately 3:15 p.m., the victim was pumping gas and then went inside to pay the cashier. A dark-colored newer style Jeep SUV pulled up alongside of the victim’s vehicle and a black male suspect exited and began tampering with the passenger door. He then broke out the window and took property from the passenger side of the vehicle. The vehicle was last seen headed south on New Hampshire Avenue towards the District of Columbia. A look-out was given to surrounding jurisdictions. The suspect is described as a black male, 20’s, wearing a striped blue and white shirt or vest.
