Shots Heard Fired Near Sligo Creek Park - Community Advisory

On January 24, 2012, at 9:17 p.m., Takoma Park Police responded to Central Avenue between Jackson and Davis for sounds of five gunshots in the area near Sligo Creek Park. One of the officers heard an additional shot from Central Avenue. The area was flooded with marked units from Takoma Park Police, Park Police, and plainclothes units from Takoma Park. Neither department was able to locate any suspect(s) or evidence of a shooting discharge. We monitored the area for the rest of the night with negative results.
