Arrest Made by Metropolitan Police Department for Fugitive from Justice from Takoma Park - News Release

Chief Ronald A. Ricucci from the Takoma Park Police Department announces that Ahmad Rashad Windsor, 20, of Washington, D.C., was arrested by the Metropolitan Police Department as a fugitive from justice involving a theft from auto and conspiracy to commit theft from Takoma Park, Maryland.

On March 8, 2012, at approximately 2:39 a.m., Takoma Park Police responded to the 6400 block of 5th Avenue, Takoma Park, Maryland, for a theft from auto in progress. Police were advised that three black males wearing dark clothing had taken two wheels off of a 2007 Chevy Cobalt SS, which was parked in the victim’s driveway. The suspects were last seen running towards a waiting white SUV. A Takoma Park Officer located the SUV on Eastern Avenue at Route 650 and initiated a stop. The officer saw, in plain view, the two wheels in the rear cargo area, which had been taken from the theft from auto on 5th Avenue. Metropolitan Police Department arrested the driver, Windsor, and charged him as a Fugitive from Justice. Metropolitan Police Department released the other three individuals from the scene.

Takoma Park Police have applied for warrants for all four individuals charging them with theft less than $1,000 and conspiracy to commit theft.
