Takoma Park Police Department Weekly Crime Report: 3/2/12 - 3/8/12

Larceny

6400 blk. of 5th Ave., on Thursday, March 8 at 2:29 a.m., officers responded to a theft in progress. Four male suspects were observed by a witness removing property from a vehicle and a lookout was given. The suspect vehicle was located and stopped in Washington DC and all suspects were apprehended with the assistance of MPD.

Larceny from Auto

Unit blk. of Sherman Ave., on Tuesday, March 6 at 1:30 p.m., officers responded to a theft that occurred earlier. Unknown suspect(s) broke a vehicle window and stole property.

Auto Theft

600 blk. of Houston Ave., on Friday, March 2 at 7:52 a.m., officers responded to an auto theft that occurred earlier. A known male suspect took a female victim’s gray 2006 Ford 500 without permission and did not return the vehicle.

Ward 6:

Assault

1100 blk. of Kingwood Dr., on Sunday, March 4 at 2:30 p.m., officers responded to an assault in progress. A known male suspect assaulted a female victim during an argument that turned physical before fleeing the scene.

Residential Burglary

7500 blk. of Jackson Ave., on Wednesday, March 7 at 8:44 p.m., officers responded to a burglary that occurred earlier. Unknown suspect(s) attempted to pry open the front door to a residence, but did not gain entry.

Larceny

1100 blk. of Jackson Ave., on Saturday, March 3 at 7:27 a.m., officers responded to a theft that occurred overnight. Unknown suspect(s) broke a vehicle window and removed property.

Arrests:

7400 blk. of New Hampshire Ave., on Monday, March 5 at 12:28 a.m., a male 20 was arrested for obstruction of justice.

1100 blk. of University Blvd., on Monday, March 5 at 8:59 p.m., a female 20 was arrested for disorderly conduct.
