Arrests Made for Maple Market Robbery - News Release

Chief Alan M. Goldberg from the Takoma Park Police Department announces the arrests of Garhett C. Adams, 20, of Laurel, Maryland, and Ricardo Antron, 20, of Brooklyn, New York, for armed robbery, 1st degree assault, 2nd degree assault, use of a handgun during a felony, theft over $1,000 and conspiracy to commit all of the above offenses.
On September 25, 2012, at approximately 10:48 a.m., Takoma Park Police responded to the 7500 block of Maple Avenue (Maple Market) for a commercial armed robbery. Adams entered the establishment and robbed an employee at gunpoint, while Antron stood look-out. Property was stolen. The suspects fled in a vehicle heading northbound on Maple Avenue towards Sherman Avenue to Carroll Avenue. No one was physically injured.
Investigation led detectives to Adams. Takoma Park detectives worked with Prince George’s County Police on several robberies that Adams was believed to be involved in. A search warrant was conducted by Prince George’s County at Adams’ home. Several items of evidentiary value were obtained in reference to the robberies. Investigation also led detectives to Antron. A search warrant was conducted on Antron’s temporary local residence and items of evidentiary value were also obtained.
Adams is being held in the Prince George’s County Jail with a detainer for transferring him to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit. Antron is being held at the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit.
This was a collaborative effort among agencies, including the Takoma Park Police Department’s patrol unit, Criminal Investigations Division, Special Assignment Team and Prince George’s County’s Robbery Section.
