On October 10, 2012, at approximately 2:00 p.m., Takoma Park Police responded to the unit block of Elm Avenue for reports of a citizen armed robbery. The victim was doing some construction work when he was accosted by three suspects. One of the suspects held the victim's arms behind his back while a second suspect took property. When the victim resisted, he was assaulted and incurred minor physical injuries. The suspects fled on foot towards Elm Avenue and Pine Avenue. A K-9 track was conducted which led officers towards Pine Avenue and Columbia Avenue and ended in the 7000 block of Carroll Avenue. The suspects are described as three black males, 16-18 years old, last seen wearing all black. One of the suspects was tall, the second one short and the third unknown. All suspects had short black hairstyles. The taller suspect was armed with a handgun.
