Residential Burglaries - Community Advisory

On August 20, 2012, Takoma Park Police responded to the 7400 block of Carroll Avenue for reports of a residential burglary that had just occurred at approximately 9:19 a.m. Unknown suspect(s) made entry to the residence by removing a window screen by the back door of the residence. Entry into the residence sounded the security alarm and the suspect(s) fled. It is believed that property was not taken.
Also on August 20, 2012, at approximately 9:29 a.m., Takoma Park Police responded to another burglary in progress in the 200 block of Spring Street. The victim arrived home to find two suspects in her home. One of the suspects grabbed property and fled through a rear door. The other suspect jumped from the second floor bedroom window. Both fled the scene by vehicle. The victim believed they were driving a gray/silver mini-van. It is believed that both suspects are involved in both burglaries. A suspect and vehicle look-out was given to surrounding jurisdictions. The suspect vehicle was located abandoned in the District of Columbia and impounded by Takoma Park Police. The suspects are described as:
Suspect 1: Black male, muscle build, short twists/braids, last seen wearing an unknown color t-shirt and possibly blue jeans.
Suspect 2: Black male, muscle build, medium complexion, short dreads, last seen wearing an Ecko brand t-shirt with a red rectangle on the left sleeve. The shirt was primarily white with red accents.
Investigations continue under case #12041186 and #12041181. Anyone with information about these crimes is asked to please call us at 301.270.1100.
