FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Chief Alan M. Goldberg from the Takoma Park Police Department announces the arrest of Quentin Lamour Gentles, 21, of Bowie, Maryland, for 1st degree burglary, malicious destruction of property and theft over $1,000.

On March 15, 2013, at approximately 12:31 p.m., Takoma Park Police responded to the 1100 block of Holton Lane, Takoma Park, Maryland, for reports of a burglary that had occurred earlier between 9:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. The victim left the residence for a short period of time, and upon return, found the inside of the residence ransacked and various items of property stolen. Entry into the residence was made by breaking a window pane out of the rear basement door. The victim was able to provide serial numbers for various electronic items that were stolen and they were subsequently entered into the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) database.

On April 4, 2013, a detective from the Prince George’s County Police Department spoke with detectives at the Takoma Park Police Department and indicated that they had executed a search and seizure warrant at the residence of Gentles and found items belonging to the victim from the residential burglary in Takoma Park; i.e., electronics were identified through NCIC.

Gentles is currently being held at the Prince George's County Department of Corrections pending service of a warrant and extradition back to Takoma Park.
