Burglary and Assault - Community Advisory

On April 8, 2013, at approximately 3:46 p.m., Takoma Park Police responded to the 7500 block of University Blvd. for reports of a burglary and assault. The victim was assaulted when entering his residence. The victim opened the door to his residence and saw an unknown Hispanic male inside. The suspect pushed the door from the inside toward the victim pushing him down the stairs. The suspect then ran down the steps towards the victim cutting him with a box cutter. It caused a minor laceration to the victim’s right arm and left hand. The suspect fled on foot towards northbound University Blvd. A K9 track was conducted with negative results. Property was taken. The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, 5’8, 200 lbs., heavy build, armed with a box cutter, last seen wearing a long sleeve red shirt with a white box pattern and blue jeans. He has a shaved head and black hair goatee.
