Takoma Park Police Department Weekly Crime Report: 3/29/13 - 4/4/13

Arrests:

7400 blk. of New Hampshire, on Tuesday, April 2nd at 11:14 p.m., a male 60, was arrested for trespassing.

6900 blk. of New Hampshire Ave., on Monday, April 1st at 2:30 p.m., a male 26, was arrested for driving with a suspended license and related traffic offenses.

900 blk. of Merrimac Dr., on Sunday, March 31st at 11:15 p.m., a female 29, was arrested for possession of marijuana.

6800 blk. of New Hampshire Ave., on March 30th at 1:37 p.m., a male 21, was arrested for possession of a deadly weapon and possession of marijuana.

400 blk. of Ethan Allen Ave., on March 30th at 3:22 a.m., four males 35, 33, 26, and 32, were arrested for having open alcoholic containers in a vehicle.

Intersection of 4th Ave. and Cockerille Ave., on Wednesday, April 3rd at 1:00 p.m., a male 48, was arrested for possession of heroin with intent to distribute.

7500 blk. of Maple Ave., on Wednesday, April 3rd at 7:00 a.m., a male 17, was arrested for having an open armed robbery warrant, theft over $1000 warrant, and assault warrant.

7400 blk. of New Hampshire Ave., on Wednesday, April 3rd at 12:21 a.m., a male 22, was arrested for possession of marijuana and traffic offenses.

7500 blk. of Maple Ave., on Monday, April 1st at 3:22 p.m., a male 28, was arrested for having an open robbery warrant and theft over $1000 warrant.

7500 blk. of Maple Ave., on Friday, March 29th at 4:00 p.m., a male 37, was arrested for having an open disorderly conduct warrant.

Ward 1:

Larceny

500 blk. of New York Ave., on Friday, March 29th at 10:21 p.m., officers responded to a theft that occurred earlier. Unknown suspect(s) removed property from a male victim’s bedroom by unknown means.

6900 blk. of Carroll Ave., on Tuesday, April 2nd at 9:30 p.m., officers responded to a theft that occurred earlier. Unknown suspect(s) stole a male victim’s bike by cutting the lock and removing it from a rack.

7200 blk. of Willow Ave., on Tuesday, April 2nd at 10:35 a.m., officers responded to a theft that occurred overnight. Known suspect(s) stole property from a female victim’s residence during an overnight visit.

Ward 2:

Larceny

7600 blk. of Carroll Ave., on Tuesday, April 2nd at 12:15 a.m., officers responded to a theft that just occurred. An unknown male suspect approached a male victim and removed the victim’s wallet from his back pocket before fleeing in an unknown direction.

7600 blk. of Carroll Ave., on Monday, April 1st at 1:00 p.m., officers responded to a theft that occurred earlier. A female victim let an unknown female suspect borrow her ring. The suspect never retuned the ring to the victim.

Ward 3:

Simple Assault

6300 blk. of New Hampshire Ave. on Saturday, March 30th at 10:08 p.m., officers responded to an assault in progress. A female 50, was arrested after assaulting a female employee and a responding officer during an argument over a food order.

Larceny

100 blk. of Sherman Ave., on Friday, March 29th at 3:49 p.m., officers responded to a theft that occurred earlier. A known female suspect stole property from her grandmother.

Ward 6:

Robbery

7900 blk. of Lockney Ave., on Friday, March 29th at 8:58 p.m., officers responded to an attempted robbery that just occurred. A male victim was walking when he was approached by 3 male suspects that asked him for money. The victim replied that he did not have any and continue to walk. The suspects continued to follow the victim and then demanded his money. The victim was able to flee to safety unharmed and call the police.

Residential Burglary

1000 blk. of Anne St., on Tuesday, April 2nd at 12:05 a.m., officers responded to a burglary that occurred earlier. Unknown suspect(s) pried open a side door to gain entry into a residence, but did not steal any property.

1200 blk. of Holton La., on Monday, April 1st at 3:16 p.m., officers responded to a burglary that occurred earlier. Unknown suspect(s) pried open a rear kitchen door to gain entry into a residence. Unknown if property was stolen.
